Third Place: “The Reid Brothers, Plain and Fancy”
Tim Kelly, Master of Photography, Craftsman Photographer
Fine Portraiture by Tim Kelly, Inc.

Tim Kelly is known for his classic portraiture, but that’s not his only passion. “I love an illustrative challenge,” he says. “I’m always looking for opportunities to do something different, more creative.”

This image was shot as part of an album cover session for regional studio bass player, Rohan Reid. “I found he was a pretty complex person with a dressed-up style and a dressed-down style so I made a double-exposure and put the two versions of him together,” Kelly says. “It was just something I wanted to do to further illustrate the man.”

Ironically, the client did not select this particular image — though in Kelly’s eyes, and in the eyes of the judges, it was indeed a fruitful session.

“The Reid Brothers, Plain and Fancy” was shot digitally, with the KODAK LEAF Aptus 75 Digital Camera Back, and printed on KODAK SUPRA ENDURA Photographic Paper.

Considered one of America’s top portraitists, Tim has been creating fine-art photography for more than 35 years. Among his many credits, Tim is a Master of Photography, Craftsman Photographer, and Fellow - American Society of Photographers. He has been inducted into both the prestigious Camera Craftsmen of America and the International Society of Portrait Artists. Tim is also a distinguished member of the KODAK PROFESSIONAL Mentor Program and has professional awards too numerous to mention. They include many state, national, and international trophies, including numerous KODAK Gallery Awards.
